How We Handle Your Information at Pyrest Halquinth

Last Updated: January 2024

Look, we get it - nobody really wants to read through pages of legal jargon. But your privacy matters to us here at Pyrest Halquinth, so we've tried to keep this as straightforward as possible. If you've got questions after reading this, just give us a call at (604) 892-7538.

What We Collect

When you book with us or sign up for our newsletter, we'll need some basic info - name, email, phone number, that sort of thing. Payment details go through secure channels (we don't actually store your full credit card numbers). If you're using our spa or dining services, we might ask about preferences or dietary needs to make your stay better.

How We Use It

Pretty straightforward - we use your info to manage your reservations, send confirmation emails, and occasionally let you know about special offers (only if you've said it's okay). We might also use it to improve our services or comply with Canadian legal requirements. That's about it, really.

Your Personal Information

Here's the deal - we're not in the business of selling your data. Never have been, never will be. The information you share with us stays with us, except in a few specific situations:

  • When you book through third-party platforms (they've got their own privacy policies)
  • If we're legally required to share it with authorities
  • With service providers who help run the hotel (payment processors, booking systems, etc.) - but they're contractually bound to keep it confidential
  • If you've given us explicit permission to share specific information
Data Security

Keeping Your Data Safe

We take security seriously up here in the mountains. Our systems use industry-standard encryption, and we regularly update our security measures. Only authorized staff members can access guest information, and they're trained on privacy protocols.

That said, no system's 100% foolproof, but we're doing everything we reasonably can to protect your info.

Cookies & Website Tracking

Yeah, we use cookies - not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. These little bits of code help our website remember you and work properly. They track things like:

Essential Cookies

Needed for booking and basic site functions

Analytics

Help us see what's working and what needs fixing

Marketing Cookies

Show you relevant offers (you can opt out)

Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. Just know that blocking some cookies might affect how the site works for you.

Your Rights & Choices

You can request a copy of what we've got on file for you anytime. Just shoot us an email at reservations@pyresthalquinth.info and we'll get that sorted within 30 days. There's no charge unless you're asking for the same info repeatedly.

Changed your email? Got a new phone number? Let us know and we'll update our records. It's actually helpful for us too - means we can reach you if there's something important about your booking.

Want us to delete your information? We can do that, but keep in mind we might need to keep some records for legal or accounting purposes (like if you've stayed with us recently). We'll let you know what we can and can't delete when you make the request.

Not interested in hearing about our special offers? No worries. There's an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every marketing email we send. Or just tell us directly and we'll take you off the list. You'll still get emails about your actual bookings though - those are important.

Guest Reviews & Photos

If you post a review or share photos from your stay on social media (and tag us), we might share those on our own channels. That's pretty standard these days. If you'd rather we didn't use something you've posted, just let us know.

Any photos taken by our staff during events or in public areas might be used for marketing - but we'll always get your permission first if you're clearly identifiable.

Children's Privacy

We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16 without parental consent. If you're booking for your family, you're responsible for providing the necessary info for kids in your party.

If we find out we've accidentally collected info from a child without proper consent, we'll delete it promptly.

Third-Party Links

Our website might link to other sites - like local attractions or partner services. Once you click away from our site, this privacy policy doesn't apply anymore. Those sites have their own policies, and honestly, you should probably give those a quick look too.

We're not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites, even if we've linked to them.

Changes to This Policy

Things change, laws get updated, and we might need to adjust this policy from time to time. If we make any significant changes, we'll post a notice on our website and update the date at the top of this page.

For major changes that affect how we use your data, we'll try to give you a heads-up via email if we've got your address on file.

Questions? We're Here to Help

If something in this policy isn't clear, or if you've got concerns about how we're handling your information, don't hesitate to reach out. We'd rather answer your questions than have you worrying about it.

International Guests

We're based in Canada, so Canadian privacy laws apply. If you're visiting from outside Canada, your information will be processed here according to our laws. By booking with us, you're agreeing to this. Different countries have different privacy laws, and we'll do our best to respect those where we can, but Canadian law takes precedence for our operations.
